Initiative for Healthy Schools

We focus on strategies to help schools implement programs, practices, and policies to keep students healthy and safe while in school. Children and adolescents are better learners when they are well-nourished, physically active, and are physically and emotionally safe. Schools are an important setting where children and adolescents can learn the knowledge and skills for lifelong physical, social, and emotional health.

We use the Whole Schwsccmodel-largeool, Whole Community, Whole Child approach developed by ASCD and CDC, as a guiding framework to help identify factors associated with learning and health.

We would love to hear from you! Please contact us for more information about our current or prior projects, and to discuss how we can partner with you or your organization to help promote healthy schools!
