Undergraduate Degree Programs

The Department of Early and Special Education at Boise State offers five Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree programs that lead to one or more Idaho teaching certifications.

DUAL EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION, ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

The Dual Early Childhood Intervention, Elementary Education Certification option is designed for educators with professional interest in both early childhood/early childhood special education and elementary education. This program results in an institutional recommendation for both the Blended Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education Certification and the K-8 Elementary Education Certification.

DUAL SPECIAL EDUCATION, EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION

The Dual Special Education, Early Childhood Intervention Certification option is designed for educators with professional interest in both special education and early childhood/early childhood special education. The program results in the K-12 Idaho Generalist Endorsement on the Standard Exceptional Child Certificate as well as Blended Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education Certification.

DUAL SPECIAL EDUCATION, ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

The Dual Certification in Special Education and in Elementary Education option is designed for educators with professional interest in both special education and general education. The program results in K-8 Elementary Education certification as well as the K-12 Idaho Generalist Endorsement on the Standard Exceptional Child Certification.

EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION – New in Fall 2018!

The Early Childhood Intervention option is designed for educators with a professional interest in early childhood education/early childhood special education from birth through 3rd grade. This program results in an institutional recommendation for the Idaho Blended Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education Certification.

SPECIAL EDUCATION

The Special Education BA is designed for educators with professional interest specifically in special education. This program results in an institutional recommendation for the K-12 Idaho Generalist Endorsement on the Standard Exceptional Child Certificate.
