Welcome to the Master In Teaching (MIT) program in the Department of Early and Special Education.

The MIT in Special Education and the MIT in Early Childhood Intervention are the only graduate programs in Idaho that make it possible to earn both a Master’s in Teaching and initial certification in one year (i.e., four academic semesters).

MIT candidates in this fully online program participate in a learning community where the emphasis is on collaboration and teamwork in the classroom and clinical settings, and have the opportunity to directly apply strategies learned in coursework with the support of both university and school-based supervisors and with peers.

The MIT in Special Education and MIT in Early Childhood Intervention flyers provide an overview of the program highlights, admission and licensure requirements, and course sequences.
