The Department of Counselor Education offers a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision Curriculum and Instruction, a master’s degree in Counseling with both Addiction and School Cognates, and a graduate certificate in Addiction Studies. The doctoral and masters programs are fully accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP).
The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Foundational Studies offers the educational courses for the secondary teacher education program, a major in elementary education, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, and a doctorate in education.
The Department of Early & Special Education offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs, including the new Master In Teaching (MIT) program. Courses provide an overview of special education programs. The department also offers elementary education teachers the opportunity to develop additional expertise in inclusive practices.
The Department of Educational Technology (EdTech) offers doctoral and master’s degree programs and three graduate certificates entirely online. All EdTech courses are highly interactive.
The Department of Literacy, Language and Culture offers a balanced approach to literacy development through graduate programs. The department also offers coursework to help teachers obtain their Idaho state reading endorsement through undergraduate and graduate classes. By including bilingual education, the department addresses the needs for teaching English to speakers of other languages.
