Boise State College of Education received accreditation until 2023 through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), the single specialized accreditor for educator preparation in the United States.
“It was exciting and slightly intimidating to commit to being an ‘early adopter’ of the CAEP standards and go through the accreditation process not only focusing on inputs, but also the outcomes of our teacher preparation programs,” said Jennifer Snow, associate dean of the college. “As a unit of teacher education programs, we came together to define performance assessments, follow our graduates into the field in their early years of teaching and engage in communities of professional practice across campus for continuous improvement just as we hope our graduates do with their colleagues in schools.”
Boise State received CAEP accreditation as an early adopter for a seven-year term from October 2016 to December 2023. This accreditation is granted for initial preparation programs. In 2023, Boise State will be reviewed for both initial and advanced programs aligned with CAEP standards.
Annual reports submitted to CAEP are available in .pdf versions going back to 2011.
