Sue B. Huizinga   shuizin@boisestate.edu

Sue B. Huizinga is the Project Director for the Boise State University TRiO Pre-College Programs, Educational Talent Search Sueand Upward Bound programs. She has been director of ETS since 1986 and of UB since 1997. She currently is a member of the Vision of the Valley, and Treasure Valley Education Partnership. Sue was awarded the Boise State University Professional Staff Person of the Year Award in 2009.She has been a faculty member for the Council for Opportunities in Education New Directors Institute, a six year board member for the Northwest Association of Special Programs, the NASP conference chairperson for 7 years.

Sue is a Boise native who graduated from Boise High School, received a BA in Secondary Education from the University of Idaho, and a Masters of Arts in Education from Boise State University.

She is married to Jeff and is the mother of Andrew who is a Mechanical Engineer major at the University of Utah.


Julie Bu    jbu@boisestate.edu

Julie M. Bu is the Assistant Director for the ETS Programs, She also serves 10-12 graders at Borah High School as an Educational Specialist. She has worked with students in grades 8th through 12th, at twelve different high schools in the Treasure Valley. She has also been the Upward Bound summer school coordinator and taught Spanish during summer school for 2 years.

Julie grew up in Boise, received a B.A. in Elementary Education from Salem State College in Salem, Massachusetts and a Masters of Arts in Education from Boise State University.

Julie served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras, Central America, and as an Educational Trainer. She has also taught an Adult English Language Learners classes, Spanish grades K-12th and University freshman seminar. She lives on the Boise Bench with her husband and three children.

Ms. Mysti Hill is the Administrative Assistant and Data Entry Coordinator. Born and raised in Oregon, she was obviously a natural born Oregonian until the late 80's when she tossed her residency aside to become a wife and mother in this great state of Idaho. Both Idaho and Boise have captured her heart and soul with it's various opportunities for growth and recreation.

In her off time she enjoys a wide range of activities from camping, hiking and exploring to book stores and outrageous story telling with her children. Ms. Hill has spent the last 17 years working as an administrative assistant for various companies in the Boise area, is currently working on a bachelors degree at Boise State University, and raising three unique and inspiring sons.

Barbara Laubner   barbaralaubner@boisestate.edu

Barbara is the administrative assistant for Upward Bound. Born in California, raised around the country courtesy of the Air Force, she spent 30 years in Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Idaho 3 years ago. Barbara has a B.S. degree in Radiological Sciences and is considering returning to college for a second degree in accounting.

Barbara has two grown sons, Jason and David, who continue to live in Las Vegas. In her spare time she enjoys reading, and riding her Harley Davidson, but her newest and favorite pastime is riding her Quad in the beautiful mountain areas of Southern Idaho.
