Checklists

The Program Advising Checklist will provide admission and advancement criteria as well as the course requirements for each teacher education program available at Boise State University.

Advisors

Advising is completed in the department of the candidate’s major. Program advisors may be contacted for more information concerning teacher education in specific content areas.

Applications  

Students must apply to be admitted into teacher education and to advance through the program. All applications for Admission to Teacher Education or advancement into the Professional Year are due for FALL SEMESTER: First Friday in February and for SPRING SEMESTER: Third Friday in September.

Assessments

Throughout the teacher education program a variety of assessments are used to evaluate candidate knowledge, skills, and dispositions. In addition they are used to determine the effectiveness of the programs and make programmatic changes to keep pace with the needs of a dynamic educational community.

Students applying for the Secondary Education Graduate Certification Program (which begins in the summer semester) are required to apply in February.
