Boise State is Idaho's metropolitan university, located in the state's population center and capital city, a hub of government, business, the arts, health care, industry and technology.  The university offers a variety of undergraduate, graduate and technical programs to serve the diverse needs of the area.

The university offers courses in eight colleges; Applied Technology, Arts and Sciences, Business and Economics, Education, Engineering, Graduate Studies, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences and Public Affairs.

In addition to its main campus located less than one mile from downtown Boise, the university operates education centers in Canyon County, McCall, Mountain Home Air Force Base, Gowen Field and Twin Falls.  A new satellite campus - Boise State West in Canyon County - is in the planning stages. 

The university delivers classes via the Internet, compressed video, microwave, wireless cable, computer conferencing and radio.  The university has an extensive evening program at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and the summer session is the state's largest.

Boise State is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.  Several individual programs are accredited by professional accrediting associations.
