cott Willison, Ph.D. is a Professor of education at Boise State University.  In addition to directing the Center for Multicultural and Educational Opportunities Scott teaches TE662: Curriculum; TE 611 School Culture and the Problems of Change; and TE 201: Foundations of Education. Prior to his current role, he served as a high school administrator in Hamden, CT.  While at Hamden Scott directed the development of two alternative school programs, one of which was a collaborative alternative school that served students from three districts.  Scott was also a faculty member at Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, CT where he worked closely with the area’s schools and directed a program that provided minority paraprofessionals the opportunity to become certified teachers.  Scott’s teaching experience includes work in Navajo reservation schools in New Mexico and an alternative residential school in Joliet, IL. with at-risk youth.

cott received his doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana University in 1989.  While at IU, Scott coordinated a program that provided pre-service teachers student teaching and internship opportunities in Navajo, Hopi and Apache communities/schools.

cott has published and presented on topics related to multicultural education and innovative teaching strategies.  He is active in the greater Boise community including having served on an area school’s Board of Directors.

cott, along with his wife and three children live in Boise, Idaho.  Together they enjoy exploring the state, camping, fly-fishing and skiing.
