Candidates are assessed regularly throughout the program to determine their strengths and weaknesses as defined by the Idaho Beginning Teacher Standards.Education Disposition AssessmentsThere are two assessments evaluating student and candidate dispositions to be a teacher. The Technical Disposition Assessment is completed by the instructor of ED-CIFS 201 while the student is enrolled in that course. In addition it is completed by the supervisor during the student's initial internship. The Professional Disposition Assessment is completed during a course selected by the student's major department and again during an internship prior to commencing the Student Teaching Semester. Professional judgment is used to determine the student's dispositions to be a teacher.

Supervisors and mentor teachers use the evidence provided (work samples, observations, conferences), the rubric, and their professional judgment to complete the assessment. Elementary candidates are assessed once during the Professional Year Internship and twice during their Student Teaching Semester. Secondary candidates are assessed once during Block II and twice during Block III, once midway through the experience and again at the end.
