The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program
McNair Scholars benefit from an array of program support and services, including:
- An intensive, faculty-directed research experience based in the summer prior to the Scholar’s final Bachelor’s program year supported by a stipend of up to $2800;
- Opportunities to attend and present research at professional conferences and submit a research manuscript for journal publication;
- Opportunities for academic enrichment and cultivation of scholarly skills and dispositions through participation in McNair Seminars and other activities;
- Immersion in scholarly communities and cultivation of professional networks;
- Support and guidance in the graduate school admission process, including assistance with development of a quality application package, identification of “good fit” graduate programs, and securing funding;
- Opportunities to visit graduate programs of interest;
- Support and guidance in completion of the bachelor’s degree;
- Preparation for progressing through advanced degree programs and attaining the Ph.D.
