What can I expect on my office computer?

All computers come with the following basic software configurations:

  • Microsoft Office Professional (currently 2003) which includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Publisher, etc.
  • Acrobat Reader
  • QuickTime
  • Macromedia Flash player
  • Internet Explorer
  • Groupwise email client

What additional software is available through the university?

Available statistical software : SPSS and SAS  
Each faculty member can receive one copy of one of these software titles for free. Additional copies cost around $79.00 each. To get SPSS or SAS installed on your computer call the Help Desk at: (426-4357). They submit a ticket and you should get your software within a week.

Boise State University also has a license for Survey Pro software to design and post web-based surveys. This software is currently not supported by the university. However, Institutional Assessment has compiled a helpful guide for using Survey Pro at the University:

The College of Education has a 25 user license for Visual Thesaurus
