Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Studies

The mission of the Associate of Arts (AA) in Early Childhood Studies is to prepare students to work as an aide in an elementary classroom or other early childhood education programs. A student completes all of core (42 credits), some courses in education (10 credits) and the early childhood studies program (13 credits). All courses are designed to transfer to the bachelor of arts early childhood studies program. Students with a certificate in CDA (Child Development Associate) and experience in a preschool classroom may be able to substitute CDA coursework for Early Childhood Studies coursework.

Twelve credits in core areas of English, Social Sciences, and Science and Math are required; 10 credits in general education courses; and 13 credits in Early Childhood Studies. All credits of the A.A. degree transfer to the B.A. in Early Childhood Studies.
