Bilingual Education

The Department of Bilingual Education offers a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, bilingual and English as second language (ESL). The department also offers master’s degrees in bilingual education and ESL.

Counselor Education

The Department of Counselor Education offers a master’s degree in counseling that is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs. Areas of concentration include school counseling and addiction counseling. The department also offers certificates in addiction studies and gerontological studies.

Curriculum, Instruction and Foundational Studies

The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Foundational Studies offers the educational courses for the secondary teacher education program, a major in elementary education, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, and a doctorate in education.

Educational Technology

The Department of Educational Technology (EdTech) offers a master’s degree and three graduate certificates entirely online. All EdTech courses are highly interactive.


The Department of Kinesiology provides comprehensive undergraduate and graduate degree programs. These programs incorporate scientific and professional methods of inquiry to study physical activity, exercise, sport, and health-related issues. Our programs also advance knowledge through scholarly inquiry. And we offer a wide-range of fitness and sport activities that help promote lifelong well-being.


The Department of Literacy offers a balanced approach to literacy development through graduate programs. The department also offers coursework to help teachers obtain their Idaho state reading endorsement through undergraduate and graduate classes.

Special Education and Early Childhood Studies

The Department of Special Education and Early Childhood Studies offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. Courses provide an overview of exceptionality and special education programs. The department also offers elementary education teachers the opportunity to develop additional expertise in inclusive practices.
