Curriculum Vita

 

Jonathan Brendefur, PhD.

        Jonathan Brendefur is Associate Professor of mathematics education in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Foundational Studies in the College of Education at Boise State University. Dr. Brendefur received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin—Madison where he was a program evaluator and a curriculum and assessment writer for a reformed middle school project entitled Mathematics in Context. At Boise State he teaches courses related to mathematics, instruction, curriculum, and research. He is also the principal investigator on two multi-year grants: Mathematics Science Partnership grant and Micron Research Grant. He also sits on two boards: a local charter school and the Idaho State Mathematics, Science, Technology, and Engineering Coalition. His areas of scholarly work lie in mathematics education, teacher beliefs, instructional practices, assessment, curriculum development, and mathematical discourse.
