Group departs for International Economic Summit in Shanghai

A study group with Boise State faculty and staff departed to Shanghai, China, July 6 to facilitate the International Economic Summit program, sponsored by the Idaho Council on Economic Education (ICEE), a center in the College of Business and Economics and the College of Education.

Leon Maynard, president of the ICEE, along with five high school teachers from Idaho, Massachusetts, and Washington, three high school students, three Boise State students, one University of Idaho student and two Boise State professors, will spend a week in Shanghai learning about the Chinese economy and educational system while participating in the International Economic Summit program with approximately 200 Chinese high school students. They will compete with Chinese students in international trade simulations, forming alliances and proposing solutions to global problems.
