Peralta presents ‘Strategies to Survive in Academia’

Claudia Peralta, chair of the Department of Bilingual Education, presented as a member of the panel “Breaking the Code: Strategies to Survive in Academia” at the American Education Research Association (AERA) conference held in Vancouver, B.C., on April 12-17. She also served as a discussant in the symposium “Employing a Community Cultural Wealth Framework to Analyze the Complexities of Latina/o Educational Attainment.”

Peralta chaired AERA’s Hispanic Research Issues Special Interest Group (SIG) annual business meeting. She served as chair of the Hispanic Research Issues SIG for 2011-2012 and will continue to be actively involved as past chair for 2012-2013.
